Family Therapy is a way to work through life transitions and family conflict, as well as establish family rules and expectations. Having open, honest, conversations can build healthy communication skills and increase positive interactions between parents and children. Family Therapy sessions are a great time to practice new skills that have been worked on during individual and/or parent coaching sessions and also a time to connect and have fun together. Family Therapy often incorporates aspects of Play Therapy and Talk Therapy and is very interactive, giving each member of the family the opportunity to have their voice heard. The focus is on solutions, not just on problems. Coming into the office, being in a neutral space, and having a therapist to guide the conversation can help families work through challenges. Family Therapy sessions may also be offered in-home to help transition the skills you’ve learned in the office into your day to day life.
